There are suggestions that piobaireachd, the music of the pipes, may have originally been a harp form, but perhaps more accurately we have the Port and the Brosnachadh, both quite suitable early forms for the harp. This workshop explores the classical
music of the ancient wire strung harp. Primarily lecture in format, Cynthia will also perform examples of the big music of the clarsach.
Designed as a presentation for harpers, this talk is also of value to any group interested in the music of Scotland. It can also be prepared and presented as a master class for players of any of the harps of Scotland and Ireland.
